Last week I shared how you can help support small businesses right now, and today I’m sharing a few of my favorite London spots that are still open. Before clicking “buy now” on Amazon, check out some of these shops first!
MY FAVORITE LONDON SMALL BUSINESSES STILL OPEN
Food / Restaurants
Planet Organic: One of my favorite organic grocery stores is still open for business. Pop in for everything from your daily vitamins to kombucha to kale chips. Their online shop is delivering as well.
Juicebaby: If you follow me on Instagram, you know how obsessed I am with Juicebaby açaí bowls! They also make yummy salads, juices, and raw sweets. They’re open for both takeaway (2 people in the store at a time) and delivery.
Gail’s: Most locations of my favorite London bakery are still open for takeaway, with a limited number of customers in the store at a time. If you don’t live near an open store, they’re also offering delivery (minimum £20 spend). Do yourself a favor and order some cinnamon rolls and Chelsea buns for Sunday brunch at home this weekend – they’re the best!
Raw Press: Raw Press is one of my favorite Chelsea cafes, and they’re currently open for delivery – their avo toast and PB&J açaí bowl are to die for! If you don’t live within their delivery radius, fear not as you can order all of their juices, raw sweets, and snacks from their online shop. The Millionaire’s Shortbread is my favorite!
Chegworth Farm Shop: A Notting Hill favorite, this adorable farm shop is still open and selling fresh local fruit and veg, eggs, meat, and other essentials. You can also order online, with free delivery with £25 or more.
Borough Market: Normally bustling with tourists, Borough Market looks a little different these days. While they’re not currently selling hot food, and all communal seating has been removed, the famous London market is still open for essentials. If you’re local, pop in for some fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and more. If you don’t live in the area, they’re delivering within a 3.5 mile radius.
Farmacy: Farmacy, the cult-favorite vegan restaurant in Notting Hill, is still open for delivery. Order online from a curated menu of dishes, featuring all of their classics. I highly recommend the mac n cheese and the curry! You can also order their organic beer and wine.
Daylesford: The fab organic farm-to-table shop Daylesford is still open for both essential shopping and online ordering (they’re delivering to all UK mainland addresses!). I’ve been going to the Westbourne Grove location weekly for fresh produce, fish, and baked goods!
Shopping (note: these are all currently online only)
Daunt Books: The iconic London bookstore is taking online orders! Their selection online is limited, but if there’s a particular book you’re looking for just shoot them an email and they’ll ship it from one of their stores for you.
Liberty London: Whenever someone asks me for London shopping recommendations, Liberty London is always on the list. Not only does it stock amazing brands, but the building itself is iconic! They have a great sale going on at the moment too, it’s a great time to treat yourself 😉
Sophie Allport: I discovered Sophie Allport at last year’s Chelsea Flower Show. I picked up one of her beautiful mugs as a souvenir, and have admired her gorgeous ceramics ever since. Everything is designed and crafted right here in the UK.
Victoria’s Stories: My lovely friend and photographer Victoria has an online print shop where she sells all of her stunning photos from around Europe. Her Italy prints are giving me major wanderlust right now!
Browns: Browns is a Mayfair staple known for stocking the hottest new designers before they make it big. Ever heard of Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, or Christopher Kane? All found first at Browns. My newest brand obsession is Totēme, and of course I discovered them here.
Curated Women: This thoughtfully curated little Richmond boutique stocks some of my favorite little known UK and EU brands such as Meadows and Samsøe & Samsøe. They’re currently offering 20% off when you spend £50 or more!
The Cotswold Company: One of the best UK homeware shops around! The Cotswold Company has everything you need to update your space during quarantine, from investing in new furniture to simply swapping old cushions for a fresh style. They currently have free delivery on every order!
Justine Tabak: A favorite of Carrie Symonds (Boris Johnson’s fiancée), Justine Tabak is a lovely British brand with a bohemian flair. Made entirely in the UK, her pieces are not only beautiful but easy to wear. This dress is on my wish list!
Have you been able to shop local lately?
