If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw that I spent the last weekend of January in one of the most beautiful places EVER – Pebble Beach, California. I was given the opportunity to run in the inaugural Vineyard Vines half marathon, and I jumped at the chance to check out the world famous golf resort!
My Experience of the Pebble Beach Half Marathon
I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about the entire weekend. This Pebble Beach half marathon was a very last minute trip (I didn’t have the chance to train for the half marathon AT ALL!), but it was too good an opportunity to pass up. I’ve run so many half marathons in my life that I knew I could physically complete the race. Would it be my best time? No. I finished in 2:13, 30 minutes off of my PR pace. None of that mattered though, because the course was so gorgeous I had to keep pinching myself to see if I was dreaming!
We stayed at the Inn at Spanish Bay, which is owned by the same company as the Pebble Beach Golf Resort. We also visited Pebble Beach, but we honestly prefer Spanish Bay. It was also very convenient for race morning, as the Pebble Beach half marathon started just a 2 minute walk down to the beach in front of Spanish Bay. We ran along 17 Mile Drive (Google it if you aren’t familiar!), and it was truly an experience I’ll never forget.
Connor and I fell in love with Pebble Beach / Moneterey / Carmel (we were an hour south of San Jose) and we’ve already booked our next trip back! The 2019 U.S. Open is being held at Pebble Beach, and rooms are booking up quickly! We’re still on the waiting list for Spanish Bay during the tournament, but we booked for the entire week after as well so we can really relax and enjoy all that the area has to offer. If you’re looking for a new vacation spot, I can’t recommend Pebble Beach enough!
