There’s nothing quite like a sunset in the summer. And you know what’s even better? A sunset in the summer on a beach in Nantucket 😉
Once Connor and I officially booked our trip to Nantucket, I immediately called up Galley Beach to make a 7:30pm dinner reservation. Spots book up weeks in advance, so you definitely have to plan ahead if you want to eat here. This was our “fancy” dinner of the trip, and you should plan on spending at least $150 for two people (more if you want apps and drinks). I have to admit, we were skeptical at first, but the food was unbelievable. It was worth every penny, and when the sun started to set around 8pm we had the best seat on the island.
As I mentioned, Galley Beach is on the fancier side. Connor had forgotten to pack nice pants (LOL), but he had nice shorts. When I called Galley Beach to ask if shorts would be acceptable, they said no! Luckily there are tons of cute shops on the island and we had no problem finding an awesome pair of pants for Connor – but learn from our mistake and pack accordingly! I thought about wearing a dress, but the temperatures really drop at night, and being right on the water I knew I would be too cold. I opted for “Nantucket red” pants and a pretty white tassel blouse from Tuckernuck. If you’re not familiar with Tuckernuck, it’s one of my absolute FAVORITE online retailers (they recently opened a brick and mortar store in Washington D.C.). They have such unique pieces that you won’t find elsewhere, and there are items at every price point. Their highly curated selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories really embodies the New England lifestyle. It’s preppy yet extremely sophisticated – I wish I could buy every single item on the site! I paired my blouse with this straw tote and these simple yet eye-catching red earrings. I was perfectly dressed for the occasion, and this night was probably my favorite from our whole trip. There are so many great pieces on the site, so I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you.
Have you ever shopped at Tuckernuck? If you haven’t heard of it before, be sure to check it out and let me know what you think! I promise you won’t be disappointed 😉
