LBD: The Little Blue Dress

Lifestyle blogger Mollie Sheperdson shares tips on styling an LBD (Little Blue Dress) all year long

By now, I think we are all well aware of the importance of having a killer little black dress in our wardrobe. But today I want to bring your attention to a different kind of LBD – the little BLUE dress.

Light blue is one of my favorite colors to wear year round. Yep, you read that right! An LBD is totally wearable throughout all the seasons. I particularly love this dress because of it’s scalloped edging and shift-style fit. It’s also a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so scoop it now while the price is right! In an effort to show you just how versatile light blue can be, I thought I would offer up some styling suggestions for wearing it throughout the year.

SPRING

Pastels are a no brainer during spring. Pair it with a denim jacket and Stan Smith sneaks to tone done the Easter vibes.

SUMMER

I styled this dress for summer with pops of pink accessories, and finished it off with a silk neck scarf. It’s fun to play around with colors during the warmer months!

FALL

One of my favorite unexpected color combos is tan and light blue. Throw on a knee length camel cardigan, a pair of cognac booties, add a few gold accessories – and this look is perfect for a crisp fall day (PSL optional).

WINTER

For chillier months, I would layer this dress under a white turtleneck and add grey suede OTK boots, and a grey wool coat, such as this one. I love a winter pastel look!

Have I convinced you of the versatility of the LBD yet?! If not, no worries. How pretty is this black and white scalloped shift?! This dress is definitely one of my favorite #nsale buys, and it’s not sold out yet! So grab it while you can, and enjoy it all year long.
