New York Fashion Week Look 1

New York Fashion Week… Depending on who you ask it’s either the best or the worst week of the year.

I have mixed opinions on NYFW myself. While I love that it’s a week for the fashion community to come together and celebrate the coming trends, I also think it’s become somewhat of a nuisance. The shows are honestly a nightmare these days – between bloggers trying to get snapped by street style photogs to watching the entire show through their phone screens to get that perfect boomerang, I find myself feeling incredibly frustrated at what fashion week is today. This year I decided to lay low and not go to a single show. I hit up a few parties, but I mostly spent my time back in NYC visiting with friends I haven’t seen since the move.

My New York Fashion Week Look #1

This dress was what I wore on Friday to the rewardStyle HQ rooftop event. I love the colors in it, and the back is completely open which I thought was a fun detail. I can see myself wearing this well into fall layered with a cardigan and booties. It also comes in this adorable yellow polka-dot print!

What do you guys think about New York fashion week? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I feel the same way! I’ve only been to fashion week once and it was so exhausting! I do love this striped dress! It is gorgeous!

This dress is so fun! Love it paired with the white sneaks for a casual, street-style look!

I love your dress, this is a fabulous NYFW look! Ugh, I missed fashion week this season due to a medical emergency, but all the peacocking outside the shows is really annoying. I don’t think a lot of people realize they should be there for the designers, not themselves. Feb is more mellow, so you should go back to the shows and see the fashion in person!!

THIS is my kind of NYFW look. I absolutely adore that dress and the fact that you wore it with sneakers. Yesss girl! The stripes and bright colors are so much fun. I bet you were sunshine on those rainy NY days!

I am with you on your thoughts about Fashion Week! While I LOVED attending in February and plan to again. I too get frustrated at other bloggers. Fashion Week is an experience and an honor to attend, it should be enjoyed and soaked in 100%. Moving on, this look of yours was one of my favorites I saw at NYFW – you rocked it lady!

I’m going in February and have a similar plan I think. I really want to concentrate on networking with other women in the industry, meeting with brands that I know my readers will/do love, and exploring the city!
