Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018 Try On Haul

As you may know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public tomorrow, so I thought it would the perfect time to share a try on haul (that and the fact that I just got my items yesterday haha, thanks mom!). In this post you will find sizing and fit tips, pricing, and honest reviews. Let’s jump right into it!

Topshop Colorblock Sweater / $44.90 / After sale: 68 / Size US 4 / Verdict: Keeping

I know, I know. Every blogger and their mother has this sweater – but honestly it’s for good reason. I was really hesitant to order it because I can be particular about the way sweaters feel, and I was really worried (convinced even) that this one would be super itchy. However, I loved the colors so much that I decided to order it and see how it felt in person. Imagine my surprise when I received it and realized that it’s SO soft! I took my normal Topshop size US 4 and it fits perfectly.

Sea Dress / $279.90 / After sale: $425 / Size 4 / Verdict: Returning

Oh man you guys, I’m so bummed about this one. I really really wanted to love it, but for $280 it just wasn’t worth it. The side zipper kept getting stuck, and the buttons along the neckline were impossible to undo. It took me a solid 15 minutes to get into this dress, and once on the final outcome wasn’t worth the struggle. I was hoping this would be my “splurge” piece from the sale, but sadly it was a big miss.

Aquatalia Fiamma Bootie / $279.90 / After sale: $425 / Size 8 / Verdict: Keeping

I am SO in love with these booties. I have a dark brown pair from this brand from last season, and I wore the heck out of them all fall and winter and they’re still in perfect condition. I love the lighter color of these, and the side buckle is a fun detail. They are worth every penny! They run TTS.

Leith Cylinder Bag / $33.90 / After sale: $54 / Verdict: Undecided

Where do I start with this bag? I’m in love with the unique shape, which is what initially drew me to the bag. The colors are nice too, but the material is really cheap. Granted, it’s a $30 bag so I suppose you get what you pay for. I’m not sure what to make of this one and if I will keep it or not. My head is telling me maybe return it, but for the price it’s definitely a cute piece.

Hinge Mix Print Top / $52.90 / After sale: $79.00 / Size XS / Verdict: Returning

I really like this top, I do. And if I had an unlimited budget I would 100% be keeping it. Unfortunately that’s not the case, so I had to make some cuts. You may have noticed that most of the items I’m keeping are big ticket items (cashmere, MOTHER jeans, Aquatalia booties), which means that some of the “trendier” items have to be returned. But this is a gorgeous top and I wish it was staying in London with me. Size down one size for the perfect fit.

Halogen Cashmere Vest / $98.90 / After sale: $149 / One size / Verdict: Keeping

I heard mixed opinions on this vest as it has a ribbed texture to it, but I love it. I think the ribbed texture is actually what makes me love it so much! I love how easy this vest is going to be to throw on over a tee and jeans (even shorts!) during those transition days from summer to fall.

MOTHER ‘The Insider’ Jeans / $151.90 / After sale: $228 / Size 26 / Verdict: Keeping

MOTHER is my favorite denim brand of all time, and these jeans are no exception. I love the wash (they’re a gorgeous shade of blue), and the cropped styling is great for wearing now with sandals, and into the fall with booties as well. They are so soft and stretchy they honestly feel like PJ pants! I already wore them all day yesterday because I’m just so in love with them. Major sale win! I took my usual size 26, but could have sized down to 25 as this brand does stretch a lot after wear.

Halogen Cashmere Scarf / $98.90 / After sale: $149 / Verdict: Returning

I ordered this cashmere scarf and another one to compare the two in person, and decided to keep the other one. This scarf is super soft, but it’s much too thin to be warm enough for a chilly London fall morning. If you live in a warmer climate this might be a great option for you, but for me it just wasn’t quite right!

Hinge Mix Print Peasant Dress / $85.90 / After sale: $129 / Size XS / Verdict: Returning

This dress is in the same boat as the peasant top. I really love it – it’s so comfortable and flattering, and the length is just right. But if I want to keep all this cashmere I’ve gotta make some decisions! So this one will be going back, but if you’re in the market for a midi dress for fall I highly recommend this one. The quality is definitely there, and the material is super soft. Size down one size.

Trouvé Menswear Blazer / $99.90 / $149 / Size XS / Verdict: Keeping

I absolutely LOVE this oversized blazer. It’s super flattering and the material has a bit of stretch, so it’s comfy too. Definitely size down a size to get the perfect fit. I have a feeling I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of this one come fall – it’s perfect for London!

Halogen Blouson Sleeve Cashmere Cardigan / $199.90 / After sale: $299 / Size: XS/S / Verdict: Keeping

I honestly love this cardigan so much that I wish I could purchase the oatmeal and grey colors too. Everything about it is just perfect, from the length, to the sleeves, to the buttery soft cashmere. Prepare to see me in this alllll winter long. Runs TTS.

Halogen Cashmere Wrap / $132.90 / After sale: $199 / Verdict: Keeping

Of the two cashmere scarfs I ordered, this is the one I’ll be keeping! I love the pretty mauve color, and it’s luxuriously oversized and cozy. I can tell this is going to be a closet staple for me when the temps drop. Anyone else ready for fall weather after this?!
