Prepping for Valentine’s Day 2018

Lifestyle blogger Mollie Moore shares how she preps for Valentine's Day with Papyrus

The holiday of love is coming up in just 2 short days, and it’s officially time for all the procrastinators (myself included) to start thinking about what they want to do to show their loved ones they care.

Did you know that Valentine’s Day is the second-largest card sending day of the year? There are 180 million Valentine’s Day cards sent annually! I think a lot of people give V-Day a bad rep, especially if you’re still looking for that special someone. But why not send a card to your parents, your best friend who lives across the country, your coworker who is always there to help? There are so many different ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day – It doesn’t just have to be about couples! Papyrus makes an array of cards, decorations, and gift wrap for perfect for everyone in your life. My personal favorites are the donut heart card and the fun pom pom heart bag!

Since I knew I would be in St. Lucia this week, I brought all of my favorite Papyrus goodies with me on my trip so I could spend the time to write heartfelt messages to those dearest to me. I’ll be back in the states just in time to hand deliver my notes on V-Day. Connor and I have never really celebrated Valentine’s Day, but that’s only because our anniversary is February 21st, so we always saved the gifts/ cards for that day, since they were only a week apart. But this year is our last year truly celebrating the anniversary of our first date, as we will have a wedding anniversary to celebrate next year! I’m excited to start new traditions with him, and that includes giving some more love to V-Day.

What are your plans for the holiday this season? Do you celebrate? I would love to know!

xx Mollie

I love the idea of handwriting a card:) Fun fact, my boyfriend and I did long distance for 2 years and we wrote each other letters once a month! It’s something very special and unique about our relationship that I will be able to hold dear to me for the rest of our lives together!

I have always loved writing handwritten cards, and rarely buy store bought ones! I love making something personalized and meaningful for that one person. This year, I’m making pizza and cookies and watching some of my favorite tv shows. Valentine’s is such a fun day!
