TGIF!! Not only is it the weekend, but it’s a 3 day weekend (insert praise hands emoji here)! Today I’m sharing a look from what might be my favorite wall of all time – the polka dot wall in downtown LA. Keep reading for more pics and in insider secret about this wall!
As much I was excited to shoot at the pink wall, this polka dot wall was definitely the one I was looking forward to the most. Since the moment I first saw it on Instagram a few years ago, I’ve been totally obsessed. It’s right in downtown LA, so it didn’t make sense for Katie and I to shoot here, especially if I wanted my Venice Beach sunset shots (which I did!). Luckily, I was meeting my mom at LAX the next morning for our road trip to Palm Springs. It only took us about 20 minutes to get to this wall from the airport, which was perfect! Insider tip: This wall is located in the parking lot of one of the best restaurants I ate at on my trip – The Springs. It was a happy coincidence, because we were there at lunch time and after shooting, we were starved! If you ever find yourself at this polka dot wall, you HAVE to stop for a meal (or even just an iced coffee!) at The Springs. You can thank me later 😉
This outfit was perfect for our road trip – it was comfy and practical. We rented a convertible for the week, so I knew I wanted to have my arms covered during the 2 hour drive to Palm Springs (#fairskinprobz), and this striped shirt did the trick. I paired it with my favorite pair of pink shorts and white bow slides, making this one of my favorite looks on Mollie Moore to date. This was also my first time trying out the neck scarf trend. I got so many compliments on it that day, and it honestly made me feel instantly chic the moment I tied it on. Fun Fact: You can’t tell when its tied, but this scarf is actually a map of California! AKA it was made to be worn on a Cali road trip. PS. My shirt, shorts, and scarf are 30% off all weekend with code ‘SWEET’! Don’t miss out, this is such a great deal!!
My mom and I had so much fun, from getting these shots, to enjoying lunch at The Springs, to driving around in our Mini Cooper convertible – it was honestly the perfect LA day and I’ll never forget it! Now every time I look at these pictures, or see photos of another blogger at the polka dot wall, I’ll smile and think about what fabulous time we had.
Does anyone have fun Memorial Day plans? Unfortunately for all us East Coasters, the weather is pretty meh this weekend. Chilly, overcast, and rainy. Connor and I are still deciding if we’re going to head into NJ or not – We’ve both been pretty sick with a cold this past week, so laying low at the apartment sounds pretty nice! Plus I only have 3 episodes of Gilmore Girls left!! Eeeek! I’ve been saving them for a time where I can watch them all together, and then jump right into the Netflix series. It’s looking like this might the perfect weekend for some TV binging! Whatever your plans are, I hope you have a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!
