It’s Wednesday, do you know what that means?! We’re just a few days away from one of my favorite events of the year – the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic!

If you aren’t familiar, the VCPC is a polo match taking place this Saturday, June 3rd, at Liberty State Park. Last year was my first time going, and it was one of the most fun days of my entire year! This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the event, so they’ve really brought out all the stops. Neil Patrick Harris is hosting, and there will be a special performance by Alicia Keys.
As I’m sure you can imagine, fashion is a huge part of the event. I haven’t decided what I’m wearing yet, but as I was shopping last night I put together this look that I think would be so cute. I love the idea of wearing a chic maxi dress – and the floral print on this one is so dreamy. Similar to “derby style”, hats are a big part of “polo style” as well. I just purchased this one (for under $25!), and plan on wearing it this weekend. Shoes are a little trickier because the event is on grass. I can barely walk in heels on flat ground, so I’m not sure they would be a good choice for me, but many women wear them with no issues! Last year I wore wedges, which worked, but I’m thinking about sticking to flats this time. I also recommend bringing a bag that’s big enough to fit some water and a few snacks. You’re allowed to bring in unopened food and nonalcoholic beverages, and it’s important to stay hydrated between sips of Veuve (insert sly smiley here).
If you’ve been thinking about going, now is the time to buy your tickets! There are a very limited number of both General Admission and Rosè Garden tickets still available. From my experience last year, I can say that the Rosè Garden is the way to go. The ticket price includes a bottle of Veuve Cliquot rosè champagne, a gourmet lunch, priority ferry boarding, and chic garden-style seating with shade. Trust me, if the sun is out (which it hopefully will be), its worth it just for the shade!! You can purchase tickets for the event here.
Is anyone else attending this Saturday? Let me know, I would LOVE to meet up! Hope to see you in the Rosè Garden 😉
