Happy Monday! Today it really is a happy Monday because it’s a 3 day weekend as well as my 3 year anniversary with Connor. I woke up this morning at The Standard East Village – Connor and I did a little ‘staycation’ to celebrate. I’ll definitely share more about that next week! I originally planned this post to be for Valentine’s Day, but I thought I’d share it today instead because our anniversary has so much more meaning!
You’ve probably noticed (or not – that’s fine too!) that I don’t share a lot about my relationship on my blog or social media (you can check out Connor’s first blog appearance in this post). I often get questions about why he’s not featured more. He’s a very private person, and I 100% respect that about him. But his privacy should never be confused with lack of support! When we met, I hadn’t even started my blog yet – I was still working a 9-5 corporate retail job that was making me really unhappy. I started Mollie Moore as a creative outlet, and Connor took all my photos on his dad’s camera (if you want some laughs, feel free to check out my 2015 archives). Once my site started to grow, I knew I was ready to quit my corporate job (and hire a professional photographer – HA!) to pursue blogging more seriously. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support of Connor. We had just moved in together, which is already a big life change, and I wanted to add in quitting a stable retail job on top of that?! TBH, I don’t how he put up with me 😉 I can honestly say I couldn’t have gotten where I am today without Connor. I’m so thankful for his support (and his iPhone photo skillz #instagramboyfriend) every single day.
In honor of our 3 year anniversary, I wanted to share 3 fun facts about us!
- How we met: Connor and I met through mutual friends about 9 months after I had moved to NYC. We were both less than a year out of college, and I think it’s safe to say that neither of us were looking for a serious relationship. I’m now a firm believer in the saying that you meet someone when you least expect it!
- Favorite date night activity: Most nights we like to just stay in, order dinner from Seamless, and watch something on Netflix. But when we do go out, we love to get sushi. Our first date was actually out to sushi, and the restaurant (Kotobuki) recently re-opened after being closed for over 2 years!! We just noticed last night that it’s open again, which was the best anniversary surprise ever ha! I’m so excited to be able to go back to our OG date night spot again.
- Best vacation we’ve gone on together: Every summer since we met, we’ve gone to Cape Cod/ Nantucket for a long weekend at the end of August. It’s something we look forward to every year, and it has special meaning to us. We both grew up going there with our families, and it was the first trip we ever took together as a couple. This year the plan is to stay for an entire week, so I’m more excited than ever!
I hope you guys enjoyed this little slice into my life with Connor. I want to continue to get more personal with ya’ll, but that usually won’t include deets on my relationship. I hope you now have a better understanding as to why! As always, thanks for reading, and let me know what you thought!
PS. Happy 3 years Connor, I love you more than the cookie dough pieces in Half Baked ice cream!

PPS. Here’s the first pic Connor and I ever took together from March 2014. We look like such babies!! I mean, look how short (and blonde) my hair is! Eek! I think it’s safe to say we’ve both come a long way since then 😉
