Happy Monday! Er… I mean Tuesday ha! Don’t you just love 3 day weekends? I spent my day off yesterday shooting some fun content for the blog (desk post is coming next week, yay!), going on a nice long run, and getting in some relaxation as well. Today I’m sharing something I’ve never worn on the blog before – my glasses! I recently got a new pair, and I’m totally in love with them. I’ve had glasses since I was 12, and I’ve always hated wearing them until I found these. Keep reading to get the deets on my fab new Prada glasses!
Real talk, my vision is bad. My prescription is a -4 (if you wear glasses, you know what that means!), so I don’t have the option of leaving the apartment without my glasses or putting in contacts. I literally wouldn’t be able to see. I got glasses when I was 11, and after wearing them for the first year, my eye doctor allowed me to try contacts. Since that moment in 7th grade, I’ve pretty much only worn my glasses when I’m at home. I wore my contacts everyday for years, until recently when I switched to daily contacts. For those of you wondering if daily contacts are worth the extra cash, the answer is YES! They are amazing, and much more comfortable. Anyways, I realized that I had an opportunity to actually save money by wearing daily contacts, even though they’re more expensive. And that’s by wearing my glasses more frequently! A day of wearing glasses is one less pair of contacts used.
However, if I was going to commit to this, I knew I needed a cute pair of glasses that I actually wanted to wear out of the house! I ordered a new pair from Warby Parker, and was so excited to get them in mail. I know that people love WP, especially because of the price point, but I ended up being really disappointed in the quality of glasses that I received. They felt cheap and they were ridiculously wide on my face, even after getting them tightened! I ended up returning them, and decided to stop in a LensCrafters just to try some styles on. That’s where I found my current frames – they were the first pair I tried on! I’ve honestly never been so happy with a pair of glasses before, and I LOVE wearing them. Not only is this good for my eyes, but I’m saving money by not wearing my contacts everyday. I’ve been wearing my new glasses so often, I think I can make my year supply of daily contacts last 18 months! Which is awesome. I plan on wearing/ styling my glasses more frequently in blog posts this year!
